How It Started?
I first started learning about real estate way back in 1986 from my high school accounting teacher. After two years as his student, I then became his assistant. He transitioned out of teaching to working full-time in real estate, and I learned a tremendous amount from him.
Some years later, I partnered up with a custom home builder friend in Bethesda, Chevy Chase, and Potomac to build a new business. The demand for backup power started to grow with his clients. In just a few years, we built one of the top backup power companies in the area — designing and installing systems for Fortune 500 CEO’s, Secretary of State’s, and even the Washington football team.
Marc Fleisher and Mark McFadden, two of my clients and biggest referrers for new business —- happened to be the two biggest realtors in the area. I also developed relationships with top custom home builders.
As the power outages started to decline a decade ago, both of these super agents suggested I get back into real estate. They understood my absolute dedication to the client, to execute as promised, was the most important factor as a real estate agent.
Over $150,000,000 in transactions later, I love the process of preparing, marketing, and selling clients homes using my Modern Marketing Method. And while I’ve helped clients with new, luxury properties in diverse locations like The Wharf in Washington DC, the heart of my focus beats within a roughly 10-mile radius of North Bethesda into Potomac, Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Rockville, Kensington, Silver Spring, and Gaithersburg.
Me & My Wife
My wife, a top skin specialist, and I have two children, and a little Schnoodle dog. Together, we bought an old dentist office in North Bethesda, and transformed it into the 5-Star rated Little Oasis Spa that flourishes under Nhan’s direction.
Way back in ancient times, I was a competitive athlete — including a field goal kicker in college. Right before graduation, I was asked by 1988 Olympic gold medalist boxer Andrew Maynard to train him (strength and conditioning), and shortly thereafter to manage him. I assembled a management team and within 6-months we secured a WBC Cruiserweight World Title in Paris, France. When I first moved to Montgomery County, I lived across the street from Charlie Crown, a wonderful old farmer. He gave me eggs every week, we talked virtually every morning, and he let me and my chocolate lab have the run of his farm. Charlie passed away, but his farm — redeveloped as Downtown Crown — is now enjoyed by thousands of people each week.
