North Bethesda is a rebrand of Rockville 20852. So don’t be confused if you see Rockville or North Bethesda intermixed. Let’s call the heart of North Bethesda the fairly new Pike & Rose development.

The absolute northern edge of North Bethesda is Twinbrook Parkway, but I prefer really where Bou Avenue hits Rockville Pike. And the southern end of North Bethesda is Grosvenor Lane and the Pike.

North Bethesda is a mix of older established neighborhoods (single family homes and townhomes), garden style condos (especially off of Tuckerman Lane), old and new high rise condos, new townhomes, and a mix of new retail and apartments.

While there’s no official downtown area, the Pike & Rose development gives you a little mini-downtown city vibe. The area continues to grow in new developments, safer walking areas near the Pike, and overall stature as a vibrant area that gives you quick access to downtown Bethesda, DC, and north on 270. The White Flint METRO is directly across the street from the Marriott Hotel and one block from Pike & Rose.

North Bethesda has the best selection of grocery stores in the entire county. Within roughly a 1/4 mile, you have Whole Foods, Trader Joes, My Organic Market, Harris Teeter, Giant, and Safeway.
